Brother from Heaven

Me and my Brother
Brothers! There aren't enough words in dictionary to describe them. They will be your best friend and also your worst enemies, and that's exactly what makes them so special.

I too am blessed with one such creature in my life.
Being 9 years older than me, he's more of a father figure than just a brother to me. He's stood by me during my worst times, and also ensured that I got into trouble for something he did. We fight, we crib, we pull each others hair out, but, we also laugh together, enjoy together and have the best of times.

I cannot jot down every memory that we have shared, because there are just one too many, but I can say, that in all of the memories that I have, you've been a hero to me, a role model and an inspiration.

My brother is one person who would let me take my own path so that I can discover myself, but also ensures to stay right by my side wherever I go so that in case I ever trip, he can hold my hand, pull me up on my feet, and ask me to walk again. It's an honor to have been blessed with such a wonderful brother - #MySiblingRocks

Dear Brother of mine, I might fight with you, get angry on you, tell on you to our parents, irritate you to the core, and say all rude words to you, but the truth is, I love you as much as you love me, and my only wish is to see you happy forever, because if there is anyone on this Earth who deserves all the happiness, it is you. You are a gem of a person. You have a been a wonderful son - to our parents, a protective brother - to me, a sweet friend- to all your friends, an extraordinary husband - to my bhabhi, and now, the most amazing Father- to my little niece.

We are all lucky to have you in our life, and I'm pretty sure everyone in our house agrees to that. Thank you, for all that you have done, for all that you have shown and for all that you have protected us from. We owe a lot to you, and this year on Rakshabandhan, I wish that that sweet smile on your face shall never fade, and that all your dreams and wishes come true. I love you Anna.

I would like to say my heartfelt thanks to http://www.igp.com/ (Portal) for giving bloggers this wonderful opportunity to share their sibling story with the world.

Fun at #FlipkartImageSearch #IndiMeet

https://www.indiblogger.in/bloggermeet.php?id=300

IndiBlogger decided to welcome August with a big bang (or more like a Hell Yeah!) and organized this wonderful meet along with Flipkart at Hard Rock Cafe, Bangalore

Saturday mornings are reserved for laziness. How many of us would have actually seen a Saturday morning? Most of us prefer to wake up in the noon, but still more than 100 people turned out for this meet in the early hours of Saturday. (Yes! 10:30AM is early. It's Saturday!)

It's extremely fun to meet up with your friends, especially your blogger friends as you tend to have a lot in common to talk about. After almost two years, I attended this IndiMeet. This being my 4th Meet, I had a wonderful time in meeting my old friends and had an even better time making new ones.

The band performing.
Everyone waited with anticipation for the meet to start and were all excited when Anoop went up on the 'Karaoke Platform'. After huddling all around the platform, we were then welcomed with a big bang performance from Anoop and his team, who made the whole place move along with their fantastic music.  The tweets blasted out as soon as the performance started. Obviously! That was a 'Hell Yeah!' performance. Way to go team. Whooop!

When the performance was over, we were introduced to Flipkart Guys and then the Introductions began. It was nice to see so many new faces, and so many old ones too. It is so fun to see so many people, the new bloggers, the experienced one, the writers, the authors, the photographers, the performers, all in one place. The meet had just begun. Soon, the Flipkart guys took over the stage and explained to us all about the #FlipkartImageSearch.

#FlipkartImageSearch is a feature added on to the mobile app of Flipkart which allows users to click pictures of what they like and search for similar products on Flipkart. Instead of trying to describe the product or try to remember the name of it, all you have to do is snap a photo of it and then search for it through Flipkart. Even though you might not always find the exact match, you'll find products of something 90% similarity. It certainly takes the whole point of Online Shopping one step ahead. This feature makes the app more user-friendly than before, and also helps us in finding things easier and quicker as we don't have to go by description anymore and instead just show them what we are looking for.

After a demo on how to use this feature, they took up questions from us audience regarding this feature or pretty much about anything related to Flipkart. Many issues, questions and doubts came up in the process, all of which were sincerely cleared by the Flipkart Team present with us during the meet. Hats off to you guys for coming up with such a wonderful idea and also for answering everything with so much patience and helping people out.

Team 5 - aka Our Team winning the Task.
Meanwhile, we were served some scrumptious meal along with drinks, which savored our taste buds and also gave us energy for the next part of the day. The next task was #FlipkartImageSearch task. All the bloggers were divided into six groups of twenty people each. We were then asked to name a person as a Captain and the other as Vice-Captain, whereas two people as Flipkart Ambassadors who would keep in touch with IndiTeam as well as Flipkart throughout the whole task. After this was done along with naming ceremony of all the groups we were explained about what we had to do. It was simple. We were supposed to go around the room and click pictures of products, which we would then use to find the same/similar product on Flipkart App. The team with the most number of products which had the exact match was to be declared as winners. After 10 minutes of rushing around, clicking pictures, being asked if something of yours could be taken a picture of, the task came to an end, and it was time for the Flipkart Team to check out the products we had added into our wishlist and see if they were all exact matches. While most of the teams managed to get around 20-25 matches, our team, that is Team 5 managed to get 35+ exact matches (after which they stopped counting). It was truly a 'Hell Yeah!' moment for our team.

When I bagged myself a Flipkart Voucher
In the midst of it all, few people were called out for being awesome, and were told that they were going to get Flipkart Vouchers for being that awesome. (Cool right?) Anyway, I think it's really cool to be one of them, because my silly little tweet bagged me a voucher, and also a joke from Anoop which actually made me consider changing my name on Twitter. Haha! Good one there Zombie!

Who uses Flipkart App? Everyone raises their hand.

Unfortunately, like all good things, even this meet had to come to an end. While half of us rushed to get our copies of '10 love stories' with the author's autograph, the other half had vanished behind the food counter. Honestly, the brownie with vanilla ice cream was like a cherry on top of a perfect day. The meet concluded with HRC team dancing for the classic, YMCA.

All in all, it was an amazing Saturday thanks to all the Blogger Friends and the IndiTeam. We found it to be informative as well as fun, and this meet definitely goes in the bag of 'Best IndiMeets of all time'. Way to go IndiTeam, Flipkart Team, as well as HRC Team. Thanks for a wonderful time, and we hope to see all of you again soon.

HELL YEAH!

Smart Choice for Smart Phone

In this era of smartphones, where a new phone is launched every week, I think Asus have come up with a smartphone which is not only wonderful in its design but also the specifications. According to me, Asus has brought into the market a beautiful phone which will race off the charts once it is released in the market.

Few reasons why I think people should choose Asus are as follows:-
  • ZenFone 2 has a Quad Core Processor which ensures smooth functioning of the phone even when multiple apps are opened. Moreover it provides 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 RAM, which makes the phone faster to use than ever.

  • ZenFone 2 has a 13MP Primary Camera which is also featured with pixel-merging technology, which ensures that photos taken during the night are also of a wonderful quality, even without flash as this technology brightens up the photos by 400%. It also has Super Resolution and HDR mode, which will help to take superb quality pics even though shadows of the daylight and detailed images at a resolution of 52MP.

  •  With a Front Camera of 5MP, ZenFone 2 makes taking selfies easier, after all, internet is ruled by the selfies, and Asus just makes it easier for us to rule with this wonderful secondary camera.

  • Battery Backup and Charging Capacity of ZenFone 2 is wonderful as within 39 minutes 60% of the battery can be charged. You are out somewhere and are in grave need of battery backup to save your life, then charge your phone for half an hour and you are good to go.

  • ZenFone 2 comes with amazing personalized tools such as Zen Motions, Personalized Fonts or Themes, Privacy Protection and more than all of that it comes with Kid Mode and Micro Security. Now passing your phone on to your kids becomes more easier with these personalized tools.

Without doubt, Asus has come up with some amazing specifications for ZenFone 2 which makes life easier for smart phone users, as this phone is compatible to everyone, from a teenager to an adult and even a kid while they are playing.

Lastly, I thank ASUS for giving us this wonderful opportunity to right about their wonderful phone. Thank you Asus.

Small things in Life

It's only at the end, that we remember the beginning.

Now that 3 years of college life is coming to an end, all I can do is think back about every single day that I enjoyed in these three wonderful years. No matter what I do, these days won't come back, and what they say, it is true, College days are the most wonderful days of life.

Now when I look back, the first thing that comes to my mind are those small things that happened throughout these years. The moments which I thought will linger in my mind forever, are actually the last of memories to visit my mind; whereas the moments which I never thought I'll remember are the ones which visit first and also the ones which leaves a huge smile on my face.

The best of the memories are the times when me and my friends used to run to canteen during break to buy snacks and cold drinks, and used to find that there was a shortage of coca-cola for the day. So, we had to share. With 2 bottles of coca-cola on the table, and 5 people on a chair around it, it used to be a game of 'Dog-and-the-Bone' every time. Who can pick up the bottle and manage to gulp down huge sips before the others found out? There were times when we used to miss classes because none of us were able to pick up those bottles without others noticing, and leaving before the bottle was empty, was not something we used to do.

Another memory which comes to mind is when we used to sit in the last benches of our class and used to open our boxes during the class time, and eat food while our lecturers were writing on board. It's an immense joy to sneak food all through the class and eat while the lecturer is busy teaching. And when someone in the front benches get caught, teasing them is even more fun.

With life on fast track mode, I realized that moments like college fest, meant less important than, playing music in class and the whole class dancing for it, or planning and executing a mass bunk just because we were feeling lazy to attend classes, or even a simple day at class where we used to sit and gossip with our lecturers about their lives or their time in the staff room.

Now that these wonderful days are almost at an end, I wish I could go back, just to live all these small moments yet again, because they meant the most to me. After all, it is the little things which makes the big difference.

I would really like to thank the Coca-Cola Community for giving me this wonderful opportunity to cherish these memories of a lifetime, and pen them down so that it could be remembered forever.

Journey to a New Life

Ever since I was a kid, I always thought about the day when I'd grow up and be independent so that I could get my own place, move out, and live by myself. But when that day finally came, I was scared deep down inside. With packed bags surrounding me, I turn around and take one long look at the room that used to be mine. A place which was always messy, with clothes thrown around everywhere, with books all around the place, with covers and papers strewn across the floor - now looked totally clean. There was nothing there, everything cleaned out.

With a sad sigh, I pick up my bag and walk out, locking the doors of the house behind me. My parents were waiting for me at my new place, which I was going to start renting from that day. As I stood at the gate of the place which was my home for 20 years, all the memories come rushing - me running around the place as a kid, me watering the plants with my grandfather, me watching my brother ride his first cycle in the front yard, me playing with my cousins on the porch, me and my mom standing at the gate and just randomly talking about stuff. What seemed like silly things when they took place, now played a special place in my heart.

I had always waited for the day I would move out and be by myself. The day where nobody would be there to tell me when to wake up, or when to close my book and go to sleep. Isn't it a dream of every single soul to have that utmost freedom? And what happens when this is received? You get scared. It is an understandable human emotion, I believe. It is normal to get scared a bit when something you were always dreaming about, comes true.

As I make my way to my new home, I feel butterflies in my bellies, the fluttering of which stretches to my heart. As happy as I was to be independent, I was also sad that I had to be without my mom, I was worried as to what would happen if I fell ill, and I wondered if everything would turn out to be fine.

My new place, 1BHK house in one of the most populated areas of Bangalore, glowed beneath the lights which was put all over it. Picking up all my stuff, I make me way to my new home, a place which would be mine, at least for the next couple of years, with hopes that everything would be fine.

Now, I can proudly say that it's been one hell of a scary ride, but the journey was totally worth it, as everyday that I spend at my new home, I'm learning something new. To be more independent with every passing minute.

I'd like to thank Housing for giving us this wonderful opportunity for sharing our experience in starting a new life. Starting a new life never seems easy, but honestly, with your mind and heart in it, anything is possible.

Sweet Memories of a Shared Laughter

Sometimes, the most memorable day of our life usually turns out to be a very simple one.

It was just another random morning, the only difference was that the Best Friend of my life was next to me, throughout the whole day instead of being miles away. It started out as a very lazy day, where we both pretty much walked around the house like zombies trying to finish our morning chores.

It was no special day, or even an holiday for that matter. Thirteenth of March, 2015, the day I bunked my classes so that I could stay at home and enjoy a day with my best friend instead of going to classes. With a bruised knee and strict mom at hand, it was decided that staying at the house way a better option than to roam around the streets.

So, after not giving much thought about what we had to do, we sat down on the couch and then the time flew so fast, that it was decided by default that we'd be couch potatoes for the rest of the day. As we sat on the couch with TV running in the background, we talked and talked, and then talked some more, about everything and then nothing. We had serious political discussions, we reviewed movies just by viewing the trailers, we cracked very very poor jokes, we laughed on those jokes till our stomachs hurt and eyes filled with tears from all the laughing, And then we cracked more jokes.

After days of spending my time at home, all by myself, being totally bored, as I was to be getting bed rest, this day was better than any walk in the park or a day at an amusement park for that matter. After spending hours on that couch with her, I realized that, sometimes, it is not about where we are, or what we are doing, it is about the person we are with, cause they will ensure you have the same atmosphere around you no matter where you are.

She's always been an inspiration to me ever since I met her, and that day was more than inspirational. Not only did I learn a lot about various stuff that goes on, but I also enjoyed a lot, and didn't get bored even for a second. For someone who had lost hopes of having fun, who thought that her bruised knee would ruin every chance that she'd get, this day was definitely a sunshine through a dark room. She gave me hope, hope to look up and understand that there is indeed a lot that I can do and that I shouldn't give up hopes, on anything, no matter what.

I've told you this a lot of times, but let me tell it again, Thank you, Thank you so much for traveling all the way over just so that you could cheer me up and spend some time with me. It means a lot, and it was, indeed, one of the best days of my life.

Lastly, I'd like to thank Housing, for giving us this wonderful chance of sharing our most memorable day. Thank you so much.

Smile. Smile Away!

When the Summer is stolen away from heavy rains, it is only common to expect our Indians roads to be slippery and filled with water.

Alas! It was a rainy day on that Tuesday Morning, when I started my vehicle to go to my college.Getting drenched in the pouring rain, I made my way to college as slowly and yet as fast as  possible. I was almost near the college when this incident, or should I call it, an accident, took place.

What else can a Rainy Day, Slippery Road, and Sudden Break result to? As I applied sudden break on my vehicle to stop it from hitting the auto in front, my vehicle skidded and the result of it was me falling on the road, and the vehicle falling on my leg. As an unbearable pain in my leg almost made me blackout, people around rushed to help me out.

The impact of the vehicle falling on my leg was pretty bad, due to which I wasn't able to actually move my leg at all. Thankfully, I was given a chair to rest in and some water to drink, after which I gave a quick call to my darling brother asking him to pick me up. 15 minutes later, My brother and Mom are next to me, at which point I solemnly burst into tears, which I had been holding back all along.

The next hour passed quickly as I was rushed to a hospital, and my leg was examined, and doctors came and went, giving me medicines and what not. Finally, came the Orthopedic who examined my leg and told me that it looks like a ligament sprain, and that I had to be on bed rest for the next 3 days. To someone who's on the verge of having her college life taken away from her forever, this news sounded worse than a death. As I cursed the doctor inside my mind, I made my way home thinking that my life was over.

Then, I made my way home. Unable to walk, I made my way from the door to the living room jumping on my left leg. The first thing I see as soon as I reach the living room is my - almost 4 month old - nephew who's on his tiny bed on the floor looking all around. I make my way to him and sit down on the couch opposite to him.

He looks at me and then sees my leg which has a knee cap on it. He stares at it for a couple of seconds before looking back into my tear filled eyes. As I look into his cute little brown eyes, he flashes his most beautiful smile at me, as if he understood everything that had happened and is genuinely happy to see that nothing worst had happened to me. At that moment, my heart melted, and all my worries faded away, including the pain in my leg. I ask my mom to pass him over to me, and then I pick him, and give him a tight hug.

My little Cutie Pie, managed to make me lose all the bad thoughts in my mind at once, by just his cute little smile. Whoever said that, Kids brighten up a home, were telling the truth, cause my little kid, manages to take away everyone's worries with nothing but his charming smile. I love you my darling, I love you.

Just when I had thought that all was lost, my little Nephew made sure to remind me that there's a lot to look forward to and that there was nothing to worry about. Children surely light up a place, and make 'a house' as 'a home'.

I really want to thank my Nephew for cheering me up so well, and for keeping me company throughout the days of my bed rest period. I would also like to thank Housing Look Up and IndiBlogger for giving me an opportunity to write about my crazy adventures.
